Saint Francis of Assisi called us all brothers and sisters. He introduced us to a life permeated with the Gospel. He calls those who love their brothers near as well as their distant brothers blessed because he speaks of love that transcends the boundaries of time and space. He explains this essence of an open fraternity in his ‘Fratelli Tutti‘. It is possible to love, recognize and appreciate people regardless of whether they are physically present and regardless of where they were born or live.
